Start Them Off on The Right Foot
Some of the bones in a childs foot don't fully form until
age 12, which gives us time to intervene and help form a healthy foot before early-stage dysfunctions become chronic problems.
According to
a recent publication: 'Children with flat feet often grow into
adults with flatter feet.1,2 D'Amico has remarked that "developmental flatfoot is the most common condition affecting
the musculoskeletal system of children under six years of age."2 Though children with flat feet may not have the
same complaints or symptoms as their adult counterparts, this does not mean that their condition should go undiagnosed or
untreated. Children may not present with a chief complaint of arch pain or heel cord tightness. Their symptoms may be disguised
as tired or achy feet or complaints that they can't run as fast as the other kids'. Reference: Biomechanics
